Afternoon of Patriotism

"An Afternoon of Patriotism" was held on Saturday, Feb. 23, featuring Retired U.S. Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North.

During his visit to Gibson County, Lt. Col. North addressed a crowd of more than 350 Tri-State residents at Princeton Community High School.

The presentation was sponsored by Kyle G. Johnson, president and CEO of Onsite OHS, Inc., and Halfrack Properties, Inc.

Later the same evening, Lt. Col. North served as the guest speaker for the Gibson County Republican Party's Lincoln Day Dinner, which was held at the YMCA Camp Carson east of Princeton.

Retired U.S. Marine delivers 'Afternoon of Patriotism'

Retired U.S. Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North made sure to take a few minutes Saturday evening to briefly talk to every Tri-State resident waiting in line for an autograph.

But when it came time for U.S. Marine Pfc. Joseph Massaro to get his autograph, the retired Marine took a few extra minutes.

Standing in his dress uniform, the 2012 Princeton Community High School graduate noted he had only participated in the Marine Corps Boot Camp Graduation just 24 hours prior. And that heand his family made a quick trip back from Parris Island, S.C., so they could attend Saturday’s community event at the high school.

Military Hero Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North Visits Gibson County

"I definitely found this day to be very rememberable and i'm honored to be here," says Sean Looman a Gibson County Resident. That was the reaction of many today after seeing Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North give a speech at Princeton Community High School. You may remember him testifying before Congress in the eighties, in the middle of a political scandal. You have listened to him talk politics on Fox News. Today this decorated veteran centered his visit to Gibson County around the topic of jobs, or lack there of for veterans.

Oliver North Headlines Onsite OHS Charity Event

Onsite OHS will host Lt. Col. Oliver North and performance artist Randall Hedden at a charity event from 2:30 to 4pm Saturday at Princeton Community High School Auditorium followed by book signing of North's book "Heroes Proved."

Oliver North is a Vietnam veteran awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts during his 22 years of service as a United States Marine.

Randall Hedden, owner of TributeArt Live, has performed for corporate and charity events nationwide and raised more than $100,000 for charity in 2012.  Hedden will speed pain two pieces to be auctioned at the event.
